Safety & Account
Account & Sign-In
Play as a guest, keep your New Yorker on every device with Google, X, Discord or email, sign out, or delete your account.
You don’t need an account to play. You can start as a guest and link one later, keeping everything.
Before Launch: The Waitlist
Before the city opens to everyone, pressing Play shows a Coming Soon page instead of the game.
- Type your email and press Join the Waitlist (on the Coming Soon page, or on the Club NYC home page).
- You may get an email asking you to confirm your spot. Click the link inside.
- That’s it. We’ll email you the day the doors open.
You don’t need an account to join, and every waitlist email has a one-click unsubscribe link. The Privacy Policy explains what we keep and why.
The Front Door
When you open the game, the front door offers:
- Play Now: jump in as a guest. No sign-up. You’ll make your New Yorker next.
- Google, X or Discord: sign in with an account you already have.
- Continue With Email: we email you a link that signs you in. No password needed.
- Play Offline Instead: play on your own, saved in this browser. Playing offline
Some sign-in options may not show up while we’re still setting them up. Guest play always works.
Guest Play
When you press Play Now, you get a real New Yorker saved to the city, the same as everyone else’s. The only difference: it’s tied to this browser.
- Your New Yorker, coins, wardrobe and apartment are saved as you play.
- If you clear your browser’s cookies or switch computers, a guest account can’t be recovered.
- To keep your New Yorker on every device, link an account. It takes a few seconds and you keep everything.
Link an Account
- Open your player card (P) and click the Account tab.
- Choose Link Google, Link X, Link Discord or Link Email.
- Follow the sign-in steps. You come right back to the city with everything you had.
Signing In With Email
- Click Continue With Email at the front door, type your email and click Email Me a Link.
- Check your inbox (and spam folder). The link works once, for 15 minutes.
- Click it, and you’re in.
Didn’t get it? Click Send It Again, or Use a Different Email if there was a typo. If a link expired or was already used, ask for a fresh one.
Your Account Tab
The Account tab on your player card shows how you’re signed in, your New Yorker number (your place in line when you joined the city), and how many days you’ve visited this week. It only shows when you’re playing online.
Signing Out
If you’ve linked an account, the Account tab has a Sign Out button. Your progress is saved first, then you’re back at the front door. Guests don’t have a sign-out button, because signing out would leave the guest behind.
Your Name
You choose your name when you make your New Yorker, and it’s yours. You can’t change it yourself. If a moderator resets a name that breaks the rules, you’ll be asked to pick a new one.
Age and Agreeing to the Rules
- Club NYC is for ages 13 and up.
- We ask for your birth month and year once, to check. We don’t keep them.
- You agree to the Terms, Privacy Policy and Community Rules when you make your New Yorker. When they change in a way that matters, you’ll be asked to agree again the next time you play.
Playing on More Than One Device
With a linked account, sign in on any computer and your New Yorker is there. You can be in the city in one window at a time: opening a second one asks “Playing somewhere else?” with Play Here Instead.
Moving Offline Progress Online
Played offline first? When you come online, your progress comes with you (up to 1,000 coins of it). You’ll be asked for your birthday and to agree to the rules, and to pick a new name if yours is taken.
Deleting Your Account
- Open your player card (P) and click the Account tab.
- Click Delete Account…
- Type your name to confirm, then click Delete Forever.
This permanently removes your New Yorker: coins, wardrobe, apartment, friends and scores. It can’t be undone. Reports about rule-breaking and moderation records are kept for safety. The Privacy Policy has the details.
Suspended or Banned
If your account is suspended, the game tells you when you can come back. If it’s banned, it can’t play Club NYC anymore. Either way, you’ll see the reason. Think it’s a mistake? The Community Rules explain how to appeal.
